Thesis Statement for Visual Rhetoric

The Chick-fil-a ad has a lighthearted appeal to every audience with the image of the cow dressing up as a chicken to promote the restaurant, while also pushing the thought of a desperate cow attempting anything to keep us from eating beef.

  1. Good start - now think about how your characterization of "lighthearted" could be a form of pathos. How is this humor established through the simple visual? You'll want to think about the typeface, the placement of the cow, color contrast, and whitespace. In addition, make sure you address the context - how does the size and location of the ad affect its message? You may choose to add background information about the company in order to position the ad within their campaign.
